As summer celebrations begin, Wegmans says it is lowering prices on dozens of summer staples, including fresh produce.

“We aim to help our customers easily prepare healthy, affordable meals year-round,” Tom Way, senior vice president of pricing, analytics and insights for Wegmans, said in a news release. “With our hot zone program, we’re offering customers great values on everyday items throughout the year, and as we head into the summer season, we’ve lowered prices on those must-have summer cookout items.”

The spotlight on fruits and vegetables is timely as fresh produce is a cornerstone of summer meals, and Wegmans’ seasonal promotion has discounts on summer favorites such as corn, watermelon, tomatoes and sweet onions.

The list of discounted summer favorites covers meats for the grill, side dishes and desserts to celebrate the season. Fresh produce items on sale include:

  • Grape tomatoes, quart ($4.49)
  • Mini cucumbers, 2 pounds ($3.99)
  • Bagged sweet onions, 3 pounds ($3.49)
  • Mixed peppers, six count ($6.49)
  • Green squash ($1.49 per pound)
  • Corn (five for $2)
  • Whole seedless watermelon ($5.99)
  • Family-pack strawberries, 2 pounds ($3.99)
