The ugli tangelo or uniq fruit is thought to be a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit. It has a thick, loose skin that may vary in color from light green to yellow-orange. The yellow-orange sections have few seeds. Uneven coloring, bronzing or scarred skin is normal. It is available from December through April.
