Corn is most often sold in the husk at retail but it's also found overwrapped in trays as value-added. Bicolor is a variety. It's also called butter and sugar variety. Sweet corn is younger and has tighter kernels than the more prolific grain commodity version.

Appearance: About half the kernels are yellow and the others are white. Sweet corn kernels are usually tight and uniform and should look fresh.
Flavor: Generally sweet but a little starchy. Flavor improves with cooking.
Size: A typical ear of corn will be 2-3 inches in diameter and 9-12 inches long.
Suggested Preparations / Tips: Corn can be grilled, steamed, boiled or roasted on the cob or off.
