Sprouts Farmers Market plans to open about 30 stores next year, including seven in the first quarter.
In the next six months, the retailer will add locations in Carlsbad, Calif.; Clearwater, Fla.; Fontana, Calif.; Lynnwood, Wash., Naples, Fla.; Sugar Land, Texas; and Las Vegas.
Sprouts currently operates more than 300 stores in 19 states and expects to expand into new markets this year, according to a news release.
One of the initiatives of the company is waste reduction, with the goal to be “Zero Waste” as defined by the Environmental Protection Agency by 2020. The Sprouts Food Rescue program is part of that effort, donating unsold edible groceries — including produce — to food banks in all markets in which the company does business.
