MONTREAL — Leamington, Ontario-based Pure Hothouse Foods introduced new product line Craft House Collection at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association show April 3-4.
“It's really drawing on the whole trend of craft beer and craft things, so really we saw a great connection there in terms of what happens and the expertise and skill and quality that goes into our products and into growing greenhouse vegetables, and really aligning that with consumer tastes for wanting more premium, quality produced items,” said Melissa Moore, marketing manager.
Items currently available in the new line are mini San Marzano tomatoes and long sweet peppers.
Pure Hothouse, which markets under the Pure Flavor brand, worked with chefs to create more than a dozen recipes that are on the new Craft House Collection website.
“It's really meant to bring out the chef in the consumer, but in a really easy way,” Moore said.
