Citrus marketing cooperative Sunkist Growers said in a news release that one of its founding members, the Limoneira Company, will rejoin the organization.

“This is more than a return — it’s a powerful alignment of shared history, values and vision,” Jim Phillips, president and CEO of Sunkist Growers, said in the release. “Together we’re transforming our collective capabilities into greater value for our growers, packers and customers.”

Under the move, which goes into effect on Nov. 1, Limoneira will remain an independent business entity, but Sunkist Growers will take over the company’s fresh citrus sales and marketing responsibilities when the new citrus season begins.

“We have long respected Sunkist’s leadership and legacy in the citrus industry,” Harold Edwards, president and CEO of Limoneira, said in the release. “Now is the right time to rejoin. Both organizations have evolved, adapted and strengthened, and we’re excited to build on that momentum to create lasting value for our growers and customers.”
