DoorDash says it will bring The Kroger Co.’s full grocery assortment to its customers. This partnership leverages Kroger’s growing store network, which the companies say will attract new households and incremental shopping occasions.

DoorDash says Kroger has been one of its most searched for and requested grocers on the platform and this partnership will help make food fresh food more accessible to its users.

Starting Oct. 1, DoorDash customers can shop Kroger’s full grocery assortment across banners, including Mariano’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, and Harris Teeter.

DoorDash says it will integrate loyalty program discounts into the app, too.

“Customers are looking for more convenient ways to shop at their local Kroger store, and delivery is an increasingly important way they engage with us. We want to provide customers what they want, how they want it, without asking them to compromise on value,” says Yael Cosset, executive vice president and chief digital officer for Kroger, in a news release.

This partnership helps make it easier for Kroger customers to shop for its high-quality, full grocery assortment, Cosset adds.

The companies also plan to collaborate on joint innovation, beginning with retail media, insights from brand partners and new delivery models that leverage Kroger’s store network and DoorDash’s technology.

“With Kroger now on DoorDash nationwide, millions of customers can shop the largest grocer on our platform with the convenience of on-demand delivery,” says Prabir Adarkar, president and chief operating officer of DoorDash. “This expansion brings customers access to Kroger’s full assortment across fresh food, household essentials and its popular private-label brands, all at affordable prices and deals they already know and trust. It’s a milestone that reflects our shared commitment to giving households more choice, value and convenience in how they shop for groceries.”

DoorDash says in the second quarter of this year, more than 25% of DoorDash’s global monthly active users ordered from new verticals including grocery and that it has increased the number of customers ordering groceries through DoorDash.
