Select Kroger, Metro Market, Pick ‘n Save and Mariano’s locations now carry a rotating selection of Home Chef meal kits in-store, including new product line Home Chef Express.
Home Chef Express, with meals that can be prepared in 15 minutes, is being rolled out in a limited market test, according to a news release.
Select stores in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin will be the first to carry Home Chef kits, with more markets to be added in 2019.
Locations in Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin plan to offer a rotating selection of four traditional Home Chef meal kits, starting the week of Oct. 8 with Brasserie-Style Sirloin Steak, Breaded Italian Chicken, Blue Cheese and Smoked Almond Pork Chop, and Adobo Chicken Enchiladas.
A rotating collection of Home Chef Express options will be offered in select Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio stores. The first set of options will be Acapulco Steak Tacos, Mongolian Meatballs, Chicken Alfredo, and Honey Butter Pork Chop.
The meals serve two and start at $17.
“We are excited to introduce Home Chef’s new retail meal kits to our store customers,” Robert Clark, senior vice president of merchandising for Kroger, said in the release. “Offering a rotating menu of recipes is one more way we are providing our customers with innovative culinary experiences and choices. The Home Chef meal kits will redefine the way customers shop for, prep and cook their meals.”
Home Chef kits can also be ordered online for home delivery. The online menu includes 18 items each week, from dinners to smoothies to “no-cook, five-minute lunches.”
