Shoppers can find jackfruit, root vegetables, oxtail, goat and much more at a new Fresco y Más store designed to cater to Caribbean shoppers.
Special features of the Lauderhill, Fla., location include a cafe with Caribbean and Hispanic breakfast items; a prepared foods section with dishes like jerk chicken, goat stew and Caribbean rice; a farmers market-style produce department with a greater assortment of items favored by Caribbean and Hispanic shoppers; and expanded seafood offerings.
“We recognized a great need in the Lauderhill community for a grocery store that provides more than the traditional Hispanic offerings,” Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers, which owns the Fresco y Más banner, said in a news release. “Our newest Fresco y Más store is handcrafted with a wide selection of products tailored specifically to the Caribbean customer as a unique offering for our Lauderhill community. We are excited to give our customers a shopping experience they can count on by providing exceptional service and authentic products with the highest quality and lowest prices.”
Fresco y Más now has 26 locations.
