Brookshire Grocery Co. has appointed Jerry LeClair as CEO, effective immediately. LeClair had served as interim CEO since February 2026 while continuing to oversee the company’s retail operations, category management, marketing, fuel, pharmacy, logistics and facility services teams.
LeClair joined BGC in 2019 as executive vice president and chief merchant officer and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2025. Since joining BGC, he has played a key role in strengthening operations and enhancing the customer experience across its family of stores, according to the company.
With more than 40 years of grocery industry experience, LeClair has held senior leadership positions with several respected food retailers. Prior to joining BGC, he served in executive leadership roles with Giant Eagle and Harris Teeter after beginning his career with Albertsons, where he advanced from courtesy clerk to district manager. He is a graduate of Wingate University in North Carolina.

BGC, which has been in operation since 1928, is a regional family-owned grocery business that operates more than 215 stores in four states — Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma — with three distribution centers. The company says it employs more than 16,000 individuals and has been recognized as a Great Place to Work since 2020.
