Pride of the Morning began life as Blackburn Eggs. As an employee of Blackburn Eggs, James Garfield Apple, worked as a driver, deliveryman, and egg handler. Garfield bought the company in the late 1970’s and began looking for ways to expand. One of his first moves was to sell all the chickens to a soup company! He became an egg distributor instead of an egg producer.
In the early 90’s, Pride of the Morning started selling produce. Dairy was added in 2005, cheese in 2010, canned items in 2012, and ice cream and frozen yogurt in 2017. Today, with guidance from Garfield, the day to day operations are being run by his three sons, Chad, Brad, and Ryan.
