Commodity Overview

Small, spherical and about 1 inch in diameter, the wampee has yellow or yellow-brown, translucent skin with a white, jelly-like flesh. Wampee have a tart flavor. The fruit's pulp can be made into desserts, pies or jams, or it can be eaten fresh when fully ripe. They are available in July and August from Florida and from June through October in Southeast Asia.
