Sharon Fruit

Commodity Overview

Resembling the persimmon, sharon fruit is seedless and can be eaten like an apple. It has light to medium orange skin and flesh (both of which are edible) and tastes like spiced brown sugar. The fruit can be eaten raw or cooked and made into sauces, baked goods, jams or marinades. It is available from April to August from South Africa.
