Whole Foods launches online shopping tool for dietary restrictions
Consumers shopping online at Whole Foods Market can now sort products by dietary preferences including keto, paleo, vegan and more.
Whole Foods found in a recent study that nearly one-third of its frequent customers shop with such restrictions in mind, according to a news release. Along with keto, paleo and vegan, other filters are vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-conscious, dairy-free, kosher, organic, low-sodium, low-fat, Engine 2 and Whole Foods Diet-approved.
“Whole Foods Market has always been a go-to for those who follow special diets or want greater transparency into what they are eating,” Jason Buechel, executive vice president of technology and chief information officer for Whole Foods Market, said in the release. “This new experience makes it easier than ever for those customers to find products that fit their needs from dietary preferences to lifestyle changes, and ultimately helps them achieve their wellness goals.”
Searching by these tags will produce a photo of the product, its nutrition fact panel and ingredients list, and diet and allergen tags. Shoppers can use the store selector on the page to find their local Whole Foods Market store and learn about availability and price.
