Study: Kraft liner market benefits from sustainable packaging interest
Increasing demand for plastic-free packaging solutions from food and retail industries could mean that the market for kraft liner will get piping hot in the next 10 years, a Future Market Insights study says.
The study predicts paper and paperboard to be the future of the packaging industry because of the negative perception of plastic worldwide.
Also, bans on single-use plastic by governments in several countries could motivate large brands and companies to use alternatives to plastic-based packaging — such as kraft liner and test liner solutions.
The global kraft liner market will surpass $20 billion by 2029 due to these factors, the study says, grabbing the largest market share.
“Brand owners are investing aggressively in packaging, driven by rise in the adoption of premium and customized packaging solutions, and increasing consumer focus on sustainable and environment-friendly products,” according to the study.
There will be increasing demand for high-strength, printable packaging solutions, especially corrugated boxes.
