RLS Logistics opens new food-grade facility
Newfield, N.J.-based RLS Logistics has opened a new food-grade ambient storage facility in Vineland, N.J.
The facility is located adjacent to the company’s current Vineland cold storage facility, according to a news release, and offers an additional 36,000 square feet of storage space to the company’s customers.
“Due to the rapid growth of our direct to consumer fulfillment business, we had ambient product and packaging material taking up valuable real estate in our temperature-controlled facility,” Ken Johnson, RLS executive vice president of the warehousing group, said in the release. “This new facility allows us to increase cold storage capacity by relocating that material in a non-temperature-controlled environment.”
There has been demand from some customers to offer ambient storage, Johnson said in the release.
Further expansion is planned, company officials said.
“We will be doubling our fulfillment output capabilities, and we have a future expansion plan that includes an additional 30,000 square foot warehouse,” RLS president and CEO of the warehousing group, said in the release.
