A restaurant experience at home with Taylor Farms salad kits

Taylor Farms has four new chopped salad kits — Roasted Garlic, Tangerine Crunch, Steakhouse Wedge and Salsa Ranch.

The kits, and their contents, are:

  • Roasted Garlic: Romaine, red cabbage, shredded broccoli, green onion, celery, parsley, smoked cheddar cheese, herb crouton crumble and creamy roasted garlic dressing;
  • Tangerine Crunch: Romaine, green cabbage, shredded broccoli, green onion, celery, parsley, toasted quinoa, dried cranberries, sliced almonds and a sweet/tart tangerine vinaigrette;
  • Steakhouse Wedge: Savoy cabbage, romaine, carrots, red cabbage, shredded broccoli, green onion, uncured bacon, crispy onions, steakhouse seasoning, and creamy blue cheese dressing; and 
  • Salsa Ranch: Red and green cabbage, shredded romaine, kale, carrots, green onion, blue and gold tortilla chips, four-cheese Mexican blend and creamy salsa ranch dressing.

“These chopped kits offer more than just a side salad for lunch or dinner,” Charis Neves, salad kit product director, said in the release. “Now you can take Tangerine Crunch to your next brunch or grab our Roasted Garlic kit and add freshly grilled veggies and proteins for a delicious dish in minutes.

“Consumers crave variety, ease and they love that these salads feature multiple ingredients and dressings that complement summertime pairings,” Neves said in the release. 

The value-added salad category has grown 19% in the past five years, according to Taylor Farms, with kits representing 20% of the value-added salad category. Chopped salad kits grew 17% in the year ending Dec. 15, according to Nielsen scan data, Taylor Farms reported.

The new kits are designed to give consumers a “restaurant experience” at home. They are regionally processed at Taylor Farms’ facilities.
