The Packer, PMG launch Tip of the Iceberg Podcast
There’s now another way to access produce industry coverage from The Packer and PMG – the new Tip of the Iceberg Podcast.
Episodes will drop weekly and feature conversations with industry members, including many interviews that are also available with video on ThePacker.com. With the podcast, however, key discussions will also be available in an on-the-go format so people can learn from other produce professionals as they’re driving around, working around the home, and anywhere else they’d like to listen.
Edison Research reports that more than a third of Americans are now regularly consuming podcasts, with 37% having listened in the past month, and 24% having listened in the past week, according to the annual Infinite Dial report the organization has been conducting for more than two decades about various media formats, including new technologies that have emerged over the years.
“Podcasts now reach over 100 million Americans every month and are attracting an increasingly diverse audience,” Tom Webster, senior vice president of Edison Research, said in a news release about the report. “Also, with 62% of Americans now saying they have used some kind of voice assistance technology, audio is becoming a bigger part of our everyday lives.”
Topics on the podcast will include seasonal updates, current events relevant to the industry, marketing, merchandising and more.
