NY Apple Association receives TV ad award

The New York Apple Association, Fishers, has received the Telly Award for a television commercial featuring the state’s apple growers.

The commercial showcases the association’s Apples From New York brand, using drone camera footage of growers in orchards interspersed with grower interviews, and will be used to support the 2019 season, according to a news release.

The commercial aired on 10 networks during shows that include “The Today Show,” “The Voice,” “Saturday Night Live,” “Meet the Press,” and “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

The spot was produced by creative agency Dixon Schwabl, Rochester, N.Y. It was recognized for outstanding production, earning a Bronze Telly in the Local-TV, Business-to-Consumer category.

"Receiving this award is extra special to us as we had many apple growers involved in the making of it," NYAA President and CEO Cynthia Haskins said in the release. "The commercial aired in New York state and on social media platforms throughout the year. It will continue to air this coming apple season."
