C&D Produce Outlet South barred from industry

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has sanctioned C&D Produce Outlet South Inc., Palm Springs, Fla., for Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act violations.

C&D Produce Outlet South did not pay $123,112 to six produce sellers for product it received in “interstate and foreign commerce” from July 2015 to October 2016, according to a USDA-Agricultural Marketing Service news release.

The company is barred from operating in the produce industry until April 20, 2021, and then only after receiving a PACA license from the USDA.

Company principals Carol Saldana, Collyn Saldana and Daniel Saldana Jr. may not be employed or affiliated with a PACA licensee until April 20, 2020, only after posting a USDA-approved surety bond, according to the release.
