Apple thieves strike again
And more crime in farm country...this time involving the theft of thousands of apples and pumpkins from farms in Michigan and Indiana.
Authorities now saying a "well-organized machine" of thieves appears to be behind the thefts.
You'll remember we told you about 50-thousand apples being reportedly stolen from Williams Orchard in LaPorte County, Indiana.
Now, an estimated 7-thousand pounds of apples are reported missing from Spicer Orchards in Fenton, Michigan.
That happened during the same week that 1-thousand pumpkins were pilfered from McCallum's Orchard in Jeddo, Michigan.
The Genesee County, Michigan sheriff says they are investigating...but don't have any suspects yet...calling the heists "a major league operation.
