Description
Western Fresh began 15 years ago as a small company with 2 employees - father and son -selling only kiwi and fresh figs. The company has expanded to 10 employees with many items to sell; the emphasis has been on hard to find fresh fruits and root crops - many of which were once considered "exotic" but have now become mainstream items such as kiwi and figs. The company expanded from selling california figs and kiwi to selling asian pears, pears, persimmons, pomegrantes,sugar plums, fresh olives, quince, specialty citrus, fresh garbanzo beans, Hawaiian payaya, ginger and sweet potatoes. Products now come from Mexico, Hawaii, Italy, Chile, China and soon Michigan where they have started a 100 acre organic farm growing heirloom apples, concord grapes, chestnuts, hazelnuts and cherries.
