We are a grower shipper in the thumb of Michigan. We farm 1350 acres and market a total of 8000 acres of vegetables from Michigan, Canada, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, New York and Kentucky. We have a 60 load cold storage.

Mike Pirrone, who originally started out by growing and selling mushrooms in 1950 with his father-in-law, Gabriel Meli, founded Mike Pirrone Produce, Inc. in 1951. After a few years of selling just mushrooms the company added Michigan hothouse rhubarband eventually started to market variouys vegetables from local farmers throughout Macomb, Wayne and Lapeer Counties.In 1995 the company began growing its own hothouse rhubarb and in 2004 expanded it's operations to farming various vegetable crops in St. Clair and Northern Macomb Counties. Today, we grow 950 acres of vegetables and market an additional 8000 acres for growers throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, New York and Ontario Canada. Many of our growers have been a part of Mike Pirrone Produce for 3 generations.We are fortunate to have several different soil types ranging from sand to peat moss and clay, which allows us to grow a multitude of different vegetables under the best conditions for each particular crop. We have always aspired to grow the highest quality of vegetables and can cater to the most discriminating customer. Mike Pirrone Produce, Inc. is aggressively committed to food safety and actively participates in good agricultural practices throughout the production and shipping process. We regularly have our facilities inspected by a third party auditor and make those results available upon request. We take special pride in starting out as a family company and remaining a family company that includes both our growers and our employees as an integral part of our ever-growing family.
